Meet Our Leadership Cohort
At the heart of the planning are the passionate individuals who make up our Resident Leader Cohort. These dedicated leaders have been selected from within the community to guide, advocate, activate, and drive the implementation of our initiatives. They bring a deep understanding of the community’s needs and a commitment to ensuring that residents' voices are at the forefront of our efforts.
Our Resident Leader Cohort will:
Facilitate Community Engagement: Leading conversations at events and throughout the Washington Park community to gather ongoing input and foster collaboration.
Monitor Progress: Ensuring accountability and transparency as the plan is implemented with community leaders, residents, and other Washington Park stakeholders.
With the leadership of Washington Park residents, the community will continue to grow stronger, more resilient, and more unified.
Key Focus Areas:
Youth Development & Education
Goal: To ensure that every young person in the Washington Park community has access to quality education and opportunities that prepare them for a successful future.
Initiative Strategies: After-school programs, mentorship opportunities, and educational workshops designed to uplift and inspire youth.
Health & Wellness and Food Security
Goal: To promote holistic health and well-being, ensuring all residents have access to essential healthcare services, wellness resources, and healthy food options.
Initiative Strategies: Community health fairs, mental health support, pop-up healthy food programs, and fitness programs aimed at improving overall well-being.
Economic Development
Goal: To drive economic growth by supporting local businesses, creating job opportunities, and providing resources for entrepreneurship.
Initiative Strategies: Small business workshops, job training programs, and financial literacy classes to empower residents economically.
Public Safety
Goal: To create a safe and welcoming environment where residents feel secure and connected.
InitiativeStrategies: Neighborhood watch programs, community policing efforts, landlord programs, and initiatives that foster unity and cooperation among residents.
Housing
Goal: To protect and enhance the community with affordable, safe housing, ensuring a healthy and sustainable future for future generations.
Initiative Strategies: Housing programming, urban gardening projects, clean-up drives, and educational programs focused on sustainability and environmental stewardship.

Washington Park Coalition of Partners
This collective partnership between 19 nonprofit organizations in Washington Park exemplifies a powerful collaboration aimed at enhancing the quality of life for local residents. By working together, these organizations support each other's events, initiatives, and programs, creating a cohesive network that addresses the diverse needs of the community. From health and education to housing and employment services, the partner nonprofits share resources and expertise, ensuring that residents have access to a broad range of opportunities. This united effort fosters a stronger, more resilient neighborhood where residents can thrive through collective empowerment and mutual support.
